Softly I whisper… I’m still here…
I’ve been taking a little break from blogging mainly because I just did not feel like it at all. I’ve not been posting any progress of my stitching… I tried to chill out (although I’m not very good at it). Life is currently a bit of a roller coaster with many changes and in a down mood I am usualy silent. But he… nothing lasts forever and I’m starting to feel much better and I will be back soon :)
Anyway… a day of ‘feel good’ about myself is a welcome change. One of my pictures of my favourite place – Bronte Museum – is added to Schmap – a local online map.
Another happy note is seeing my free patterns being used in a creative way. Look at this beauty made with my latest freebie from Elisa at ‘Old Ragged Threads’ !
It has given me some inspiration for my next one :)

That’s it, I’m on non-speaking terms with Mabel – our lovely little sweet fluffy cat (…she is most of the time!). She went out for her morning stroll and stayed away a bit too long. I opened the front door to see what she was up to and saw her sitting on the doorstep chewing on something. That ’something’ was one of the little baby blackbirds fallen our of their nest…
We have one or two nests every year and I love watching the mother blackbird in our garden looking for worms and the food that I give her. I’m a cat lover but moments like these are definitely not my favourite!
I started with a new project – Peacock Pinkeep by Blackbird designs, Loose feathers #35 and I’m loving it! As recommended I stitch it on 28ct Weeks Dye Works Gingham linen using CC Belle Soie Silk. Here is my progress so far…

We have sunshine today which is a good thing for a bank holiday. I’m off to work today but hopefully I will have some time this weekend to enjoy the sunshine outdoors like last weekend. We had a lovely time in Bolton Abbey… here are some pictures.

It must be about 20 years ago that I last watched the Eurovision song contest. Wthout a doubt this years host Russia hosted the best show I’ve ever seen.
The voting system completely changed to prevent unfair results and it has become once again a real competition.
Although my native country the Netherlands did not reach the final … United Kingdom won 5th place and gave me plenty to cheer for. Alexander’s ‘fairytale’ was my favourite (scoring high in the ‘cute factor’ as well) and he won, congratulations Norway! Yes, it was a pleasure to watch this years show.
I will be posting soon with some cross stitch news… I have been working on some new patterns and the Summer freebie is also on it’s way.
