And… then there was light…

The wet, cold and especially dark days of December make me feel depressed and I have little stitching progress to show.

There is however light at the end of the tunnel because we will be visiting friends over the holidays. The house we stay in has much better light and I will be able to continue my projects.

Yesteryear from LHN is still a work in progess – and – I also started a new project: Blackbird Designs ‘Tulip Manor’.  I have been ‘collecting’ some of the BBD loose feather patterns and I absolutely love them!  I just had to start one :)

Blackbird Designs 'Tulip Manor'

I’m stitching it on 30ct R&R linen – Old Town Blend with Hand dyed threads from Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Art.

I tried to take a picture but it just turned out too dark :((

Anyway… here’s a great link in case you need some  last minute gift tags  And if you need some inspiration what to do with all the Christmas cards …. how about this idea, a good example of recycling!

Thank you for all your support and I wish you all Happy Holidays!

Going to pack my bags…

  2. The frame fits so well with the subject of your stitched masterpiece, great job!

You know how my mother recycles Christmas Cards? She collects them from friends and family. The next year she cuts the part where the names are off the card, then she puts Christmas stickers on them and writes a note on each of them. All the cards are put in an envelop, again decorated with Christmas stamps or stickers. And finally she delivers them to the homes for the elderly in her neighborhood. This year she’s delivered 350 cards! All handwritten and decorated.
Eventhough she doesn’t sign with her name – she wants to stay anonymous – she’s heard from several nurses that the people in the homes are so happy to get a card. Some of them don’t have (or don’t hear from) family members, so it’s the only card they get. They love their ‘Secret Santa’.

Happy Holidays to you and Steve!
